Classics, Glitter, and Wrapping Paper

This past weekend Ben decided to go to New Mexico to watch his brother play in the Bowl game. Since we just got Netflix, I thought I'd download a lot of good old classic movies and whip them out in a weekend! Here are a few that I watched and recommend!

Also I was able to catch up and finish our wrapping for Christmas! It felt good to finally get everything done for the Holidays. The only thing left is to wait until Thursday to go to California! We are so excited and can't wait to get away from the snow for a little bit. I am glittering candles for some gifts as well and this is what mine look like on our mantle:

They are super easy and fun to do. I just bought spray adhesive and poured glitter on them and they turned out like this! (Inspired by Martha Stewart, of course!)
We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and remembers the reason for the season! We love all of you and thank you for your friendship! Happy holidays!!

Fun Ideas

Here are some of my favorites that I am going to attempt to make!
A friend told me about these vases. You pour paint in the vase to the top and then pour it all out and let the excess dry. You could even pour mod podge in them and then put glitter inside the vase instead. Lots you can do!

I think this is SO pretty! It could be something that can stay up all year round

These are SO easy to do, spray them with glue and pour glitter on them. SO cute!

My Obsession

Lately I have had this obsession with Martha Stewart and her cute crafts and ideas she posts on her website and I L.O.V.E stalking her website for new ideas. I'm not as talented as her by any means...but I am inspired by her work. Anyways! I have been meditating myself by making Christmas cards and decorations this season. Here are a few of the many:

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful!

It is really hard to be a California girl and live in the Utah winters for so long now. I can't believe how cold it has gotten the past few days. I thought it was a little funny when I was working last night EVERY customer was thinking that the storm that was about to come was the end of the world. Obviously, it is important to be safe...but come on people, just be smart when there's a storm and stay home! Why are you out shopping when you are so worried about the weather? It was said on the news that this storm was supposed to be one of the biggest of the century. Luckily, Provo and Orem didn't get barely any snow, it was just absolutely FREEZING! I think the lowest it got to was about 10 degrees. Believe it or not I walked about 2 miles last night outside with my sister in law and her sister! We bundled up pretty snug, but our faces felt like they were going to break off! I was proud of myself for bearing through it because it felt nice! Stay warm Utah folks!

Yay for the holidays!

So I know that I am going to get a lot of crap for this, but I am willing to deal with it! Since I had to start celebrating Halloween, decorating and watching scary movies in September, I was promised that I could start celebrating my favorite holiday EVER in November. I know, I know, "Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet," but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the holiday and am grateful for Thanksgiving. I just get over-excited about the holiday about Christ, and giving, and peace. So bear with me! We just had so much fun getting everything at the dollar store. I think it turned out pretty good for how cheap everything was! :)

Eat, Drink and be SCARY!

On Saturday morning Ben and I started off our Halloween by eating breakfast and playing a game called "Munchkin' Bites," which is a type of monster card game. I figured it would be a good way to start off Ben's FaVoRiTe holiday of the year. By the time we were done it was 11:30 and Ben said, "Alright, time to get our costumes on!" Haha, I started laughing but he was actually serious. We ended up wearing our costumes ALL day! Ben was a "dead Jack the Ripper" and I was a dead rag doll. Ben is all about the scariness of Halloween, so I decided that this year I would be something a little out of my comfort zone and be something dead. Anyways, we ended up walking around the mall while Ben scared the little kiddies. Afterward, we went to the family's house to have a Halloween party with everybody. Ben hid in a treasure chest in the walkway and would pop out at the trick or treaters as they came to the door. It was pretty funny. One Mexican child got scared and said "No quiero! No quiero!" and ran off down the street. It was hilarious. It was a fun Halloween all together, and I know that Ben is ALREADY thinking of plans for next year!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

So the other night Ben and I were watching TV and it was something scary like "The Haunted" or something like that. Ben fell asleep on the couch and it was only about 9:00. So I decided to pop in Breakfast at Tiffany's and enjoy the rest of my night with the BEAUTIFUL Audrey Hepburn. It turns out that this great classic happens to be one of my absolute favorites! Every girl needs to experience a night with some Ben and Jerry's ice cream and Breakfast at Tiffany's!

Pumpkin Shmumpkin

Friday after work Ben and I FINALLY got a night that we could have some fun! Ever since I have picked up a second job, I normally don't get off work until 10:00 at night. Luckily, Friday night I had a night off and so we took advantage of our free time. We went to the PuMpKiN Patch and picked out some pumpkins to carve. Then we got some stuff to make pumpkin pie for our family Halloween party at the cabin in Sundance. The only hard thing about making pumpkins is finding out what you are going to carve. It probably took us an hour of searching on the internet of something good to carve! Ben ended up choosing a scary skeleton type face thing, and I chose to carve something from the play "Wicked". Nothing too special on my end, but Ben's turned out awesome! Chess was having a blast getting into all of the mess from the pumpkins as well. So it was a really fun night for our little family!

FaLL FuN!

So I think I have gone through creating a blog probably ThReE different times and I always end up deleting it because I feel like no one cares as to what I have to say. LAME...I know. But I felt it was important to try one more time! Since Fall is finally here, Ben has done nothing but shop for Halloween decorations and costume ideas for the holiday. Since it is his favorite holiday of the year, he L.O.V.E.S watching scary movies. So I decided to suck it up and have nightmares for a month or so. Haha. Anyways, we are both loving the colors of Fall this year and can't wait to celebrate Halloween!
